According to several reports, Superstar Rajinikanth’s new film with director Ranjith is allegedly based on the life story Haji Mastan, a popular gangster figure in Bollywood.
Now Sundar Shaekhar, foster son of Haji Mastan has sent a legal notice to Superstar Rajinikanth saying that he learned from media reports that they are going to portray his God Father as a smuggler and gangster.
“This Is to inform you that I as Foster Son (Valarpumagan) of Late Shri Haji Mastan Mirza, famous personality all over the world, who was also Founder of Political Party - 'Bharatiya Minorities Suraksha Mahasangh'. Recently I came to know through print media viz., Times of India & Tamil Times that you along with Director Mr.Ranjit are making film on my God Father Late Shri Haji Mastan Mirza's life line or Biopic hence, I as hereby sending you this Notice. I further state that you are depicting my God Father & a well known National Political Leader as a 'Smuggler and Underworld Don', which are highly unacceptable & I strongly oppose such misrepresentation of my God Father. Late Shri Haji Mastan Mirza was never convicted by any Court of Law in India in any such case of smuggling or any case slated to underworld. And representing or calling Late Shri Haji Mastan Mirza as 'Smuggler and Underworld Don' are highly defamatory”, said Sundar Shaekhar in his legal notice.
Sundar Shaekhar has also mentioned his dad never asked him to change his religion, he added “I further state that both of us are hailing from Tamil Nadu and I am staying with him since from my childhood, he raised me as his own Son but never forced me to change my religion. I used to accompany with him anywhere anytime and no one else other than me was such close to him. If you are really interested in making film on the lifestyle a Late Shri Haji Mastan Mirza then I shall provide you his real life story, even I am interested in making a Biopic on my God Father as I am a Producer and a registered lifetime Member of Indian Motion Picture Producer's Association. I further state that there is a huge Political Party behind him and all Party Workers are in state of anger on such misrepresentation of Late Shri Haji Mastan Mirza as Smuggler or Underworld Don and if any such attempt is made by you to produce any such film, then I shall be constraint to adopt legal proceedings and it is needless to say that the same shall be entirely at your risks as to costs and consequences, which please note”.
Now all eyes on director Ranjith and Rajinikanth for their reply on this new controversy. To be produced by Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush, a huge set replicating Mumbai’s Dharavi is being erected in Chennai for the film.
