Independence Day Weekend, Chennai Box-Office (Aug 12 to 15)

Vikram Prabhu’s Wagah is the number one film at the Independence Day Weekend box-office at CBO. It was a smart idea to distribute the film through SPI Cinemas in Chennai city, who gave the film which carries negative reports prime shows and large screens.

In the second place is Akshay Kumar’s Rustom, which got big screens and wide release. Kabali after three successful weeks at the top has come down to number third position, still holding strong due to the large family audiences. The film has netted around Rs 35 lakhs in the four-day ID weekend from 15 odd screens.

At number four is Joker, which got small screens and limited shows, but due to word of mouth performed extremely well. The WOM around the film will help it to sustain. And in the fifth place is Mohenja Daro, which has taken a poor opening.
