Chennai Box-Office (February 9-11)

Tuesday, 24 October, 2017, 12:49

Sundar C’s comedy riot Kalakalappu 2 has taken a very good opening. The three–day Chennai city gross is around Rs 1.60 Cr, which is fantastic for a film without any big stars. The comedy brand of Sundar C seems to have worked big time as Kalakalappu 2 is a clear winner and is number one this week at the CBO.

In the second position is Akshay Kumar’s Padman, which took a good opening, as it got big screens and prime shows. At number three is Vijay Sethupathi’s ONNPS, which is holding on in its second week.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat can now be said to be a blockbuster as it has grossed over Rs 3.5 Cr from Chennai city from its Hindi and Tamil version. The period drama continues to do well and is at number four. In the fifth place is Savarakathi, which is playing in small screens with limited shows.
