Of late rumours have been spreading about a forthcoming film titled Ira, directed by debutant Sudhi S, that it is based on actor Dileep’s life. In fact, the makers of the film have given enough to add to those doubts.
With a title that means “the victim” and a tagline, “Story of an accused”, the terms are obviously similar to those used by the media during the controversial case in which Dileep was jailed for 85 days or the marketing has been done smartly to generate such ideas.
Ira has Unni Mukundan playing the lead and Gokul Suresh in an important role. There were posters of Ira circulated by some, replacing a bearded real life picture of Dileep coming out of jail on bail, with Unni Mukundan’s.
There are even reports that the film has been based on some story that Dileep was busy writing while in jail and already some speculations are spreading regarding the possible content, which they feel are going to be sensational.
But then, if Ira is not related to all these and these are totally false or baseless, there have been no efforts from the makers to deny such stories.
