Shivarajkumar, Nabha Natesh, Karunya Ram
When the actor-director combo gives a blockbuster movie, which had excelled in all the technical aspects, audience will have a huge expectation on their second venture as well. Actor Shivarajkumar and director Harsha, who had earlier collaborated for blockbuster Bhajarangi are now back with Vajrakaya.
From being a multi-starrer to having adrenaline pumping action sequences and blockbuster songs, Vajrakaya is one of the most expected movies of the year. The movie has released in majority of theatres across the state and has received a warm opening.
Viraj (Shivarajkumar) goes out to a deserted land, looking for his mother, where he finds a unique connection with the place. As the movie progresses, one gets to understand the deeper connection Viraj shares with that land, who ultimately saves people from the baddies, who will be ruling the land. While the first half deals with Viraj prepares himself to go meet his mother, second half is all about how Viraj settles in the deserted land and helps the people over there.
Though the storyline sounds similar to Bhajarangi, Vajrakaya has many shades, which is unveiled as the movie progresses. Lord Hanuman, who had played a major role in Bhajarangi, finds a similar ‘place’ in Vajrakaya too!
An action packed family drama, Vajrakaya has Shivarajkumar carrying the entire movie on his shoulders. All three actresses Nabha Natesh, Karunya Ram, Padmaja Rao have equal screen space and have done justice to their roles. The first song of the album has four leading actors from south, shaking their legs with Shivarajkumar. The song that has Shiva Karthikeyan, Dilip, V Ravichandran and Ravi Teja gets maximum whistles from the audience.
Speaking of songs, they need a special mention here; just like his every other film, Harsha has brilliantly choreographed the songs, which is a visual treat to watch on silver screen! A high-decibel drama, songs and background music has played a vital role in the film. All the songs by Arjun Janya are good. No Problem in the voice of Dhanush has already received huge response from the audience. Title song and Thukatha Gadabada are dance numbers and choreography for all the songs is simply amazing.
One can say that Harsha has improved as a director but still has a long way to go.
The movie has everything any commercial cinema should have; emotions, sentiment, love story, songs, action sequences, father-son sentiment, mother sentiment and more and is a must watch for this weekend.
